RTC Modules to Provide Time/Date Information in Embedded Applications

Image
DS1307 Real Time Clock RTC Module RTC DS1307 module comes with a CR2032 battery holder. The RTCs are widely used where time keeping is necessary. It can used to show the current time i.e. real time. Also this module can be used to make a alarm clock also. It uses a single CR2032 battery which can run the RTC for years. The DS1307 chip can be interfaced with i2c protocol with different boards. Specification: Size: 27 x 28 x 8.4mm AT24C32 32K I2C EEPROM memory 56 Bytes of Non-volatile memory available to user. 1Hz output pin. DS3231 RTC Module (AT24C32) The DS3231 module is a Precise Real Time Clock Module based on the AT24C32 IC. The module can provide information like date, day, week and time to a microcontroller through I2C communication. The module also has a built in lithium cell, so once the time and date is set the IC will obtain power the battery during power down to keep track of change in time. The module operates form 2.2V to 5.5V. Apart from provide tim

How IR Flame Sensor Module Works

Image
In general, infrared radiation is the transfer of energy from one place to another through electromagnetic waves. Every object emits and absorbs infrared radiation. If an object is hotter, then it radiates more energy. When this emitted energy hits an object, some of the energy will be absorbed by the object while the remaining part will get reflected back. When the object absorbs this energy, its temperature increases. So what does a flame sensor do is, the photodiode present in the sensor senses the IR waves emitted by the burning object, and then changes its resistance accordingly, which in turn changes the output of the sensor. There are different types of flame sensors, some of them are Ultraviolet flame sensors, Near IR array flame sensors, IR3 flame detection sensors. The application of flame sensors is in a number of hazardous environments, such as industrial gas turbines, domestic heating systems, hydrogen stations, etc. The flame sensor which we are going to discuss sense

Top 5 Most Commonly Used Display Modules by Makers

Image
Display are an important part of embedded projects. Whether you design a sensor based project or measure something through micro controllers, you might want a display module to show those values to a display. Wondering which display modules are the most commonly used by students and makers, we checked many online DIY projects built by and intended for students and makers. So let's check the top 5 mostly commonly used display modules among those electronics projects. 1) 16x2 LCD Display  These LCD modules are commonly used in most embedded projects, the reason being its cheap price, availability and programmer friendly. Apart from being used by students and makers, they are also used in various products and many of us would have come across these displays in our day to day life, either at PCO’s or calculators. If you are deciding to build a project and you can use a simple display, it is a good choice to buy 16x2 LCD display . 2) 7 Segment Display The seven segment

Top 5 Websites to Find Datasheets

Datasheets are great help when starting with new electronic components. There are millions of electronics components and it is impossible for someone to have all the datasheets, that's where datasheet search engineers comes handy. Here I am sharing the most popular datasheet websites, which have a large collection of datasheets and useful when you need technical information about some component. 1. Datasheet.com 2. DatasheetCatalog.com 3. Datasheets360.com  4. AllDatasheet.com 5. DatasheetsPDF.com Hope this blog post is helpful. Please share what datasheet website you use for searching new datasheets!
